The Online Equivalent of an Effective Newspaper Advertisement is FREE

Ask anybody who has been in business for a long enough and they
will tell you how newspaper advertisements have for decades
helped to build countless small businesses.

The advantages of a newspaper advertisement are many, but what
has attracted small business entrepreneurs for decades is the
speed at which a struggling entrepreneur (short of funds as many
starting small businesses always are, and looking for customers fast)
is able to get a very quick response.

Many extremely successful businesses today started off booking
tiny classified newspaper advertisements, grew into larger
display advertisements (that were still very tiny) and today
are multi million dollar enterprises commanding lots of
respect. If folks were laughing then because of the tiny
advertisements, you can be sure that they are no longer
laughing today.

Many of those who know all this stuff are not aware of an
amazing new development. That there is an equivalent of the
highly effective newspaper advertising online. And what’s more
it is FREE.

Most people know that free articles posted at relevant web
sites with a good detailed resource box leading back to your
web site or free course or whatever works for you, is the
most effective way of advertising online. However there has
always been one very important missing link. And that is high
readership.

Newspapers tend to have very high circulations and that’s how
small businesses would manage to get such a good response
from those tiny advertisements placed. The problem with online
articles is that in order to have a high enough readership, you will
need to post an article at numerous different sites and you may
require quite a number of articles to get the good response you
seek. It usually takes a while for the articles posted and the viral
effect (that good articles enjoy of being reposted over and over
again) to take effect and give you a good regular response similar
to good offline newspaper advertisements.

Not any more. Smart entrepreneurs are now combining their free
articles with the amazing eBay site to reproduce an effect that
is even better than the newspaper in the old says. Better because
it is mostly free and yet has the potential of pulling in the
sort of targeted traffic that no daily newspaper on earth can
even dream of. The key words here are “targeted traffic.”

All you need to do is register with Ebay. And you don’t even
need to sell anything. You just have to use your eBay about-me
-page.

eBay has well over 1.5 billion page views per month. There are
well over 40,000 people who sign up for eBay every day – Sunday
included.

Of course there’s serious money to be made from the auctions or
by selling something with a fixed price. But you can profit on
eBay even if you are not selling anything. You can use the About
me page to put in all sorts of information including a link to
your article or web site. Just by learning how to do this, you can
dramatically increase traffic to your posted articles or even to
your web site. This highly targeted traffic is bound to yield
sales for you, whatever it is you are selling. The traffic is targeted
because you select your section in eBay carefully.

I found Brian McGregor’s ebook, “The eBay Formula,” extremely
useful in helping me understand how to use eBay to drive my
traffic and profits. You can get the ebook now by emailimg me personally at [email protected]

Despite all the hype on the net these days, there are a few
really amazing things that you can do with the internet, this
has to be at the top of the list because it gives one the
potential to earn some of the incomes the hype guys are
throwing around. Those are the figures I’m going for myself
and I dare admit that I’m getting there quite fast.

When you do get those high numbers please remember that you
First heard of this amazing secret from me.

Internet Advertising – Best of the Best for 2010 – Where Have All the Good Internet Ads Gone?

Trying to avoid advertising on the internet is like trying to go to the beach without getting sand in your car. However, trying to find funny, well-designed, thought-provoking or curiosity-provoking internet advertising is like trying to find a whale at that same beach! The internet only exists in its current form because of the power of advertising. But we certainly wish that all internet advertising could be a little more like these award-winning pieces…

IAC’s Best of Show Email Message

Email messages are a fantastic form of internet advertising for many companies. If you have the potential for a returning customer base, email marketing gives you a solid warm marketing opportunity, e-Dialog’s Holiday Card was judged the best email message of the year. Beautiful design, just the right mix of professionalism and fun, skillful integration of Flash… it makes me a little weak at the knees!

IAC’s Best of Show Online Campaign

There are quite a few big business names among these ‘Best of Show’ ads. Don’t let this fact put you off trying for an award–winner in your own advertising… see these ads more as a learning opportunity to help you identify what could work for your own business, without the burden of trial and error. The Best of Show Online Campaign was taken out by Conde Nast (condenastdigital.com/promo/awardentries/proctorandgamble/), who put five beauty brands together (Pantene, Olay, Secret, Venus and Covergirl) on a MustHaveIt minisite.

IAC’s Best of Show Interactive Application

Biggs and Gilmore featured heavily in this year’s Best of Show awards for internet advertising. Well done! Interactive applications are very much hit and miss, and generally used only for very young audiences. Your business might not necessarily benefit from this form of internet advertising… but the game is a throwback to the good old of days of Super Nintendo, and is quite addictive!

AC’s Best of Show Website

You might not have realised, but your website is as much a part of your internet advertising campaign as your internet advertising itself! Froot Loops (frootloops.com/healthymessage/index.html) are lucky to have a joyful rainbow colour scheme anyway, and while their website is a little slow to load, it is certainly fun and visually stunning. If you played the Apple Jacks game, the design will look familiar… Kellogs know how to go with what works in advertising.

IAC’s Best of Show Online Video

Video is often hailed as the ‘next big thing’ in internet advertising. And Biggs Gilmore and Morningstar Farms have definitely tapped into the ‘on-demand’ nature of advertising, blending the convenience of your midday cooking shows with the ability to search based on a wide range of criteria.

IAC’s Best of Show Online Ad

Mattel and Razorfish took out this category for their Battle Force 5 cartoon. No, not just a Flash cartoon piece of advertising, an actual cartoon. With characters, scripts, and episodes… and a massive viewership! Of course, this type of internet advertising won’t be for every business. A sizeable budget is required, but this is a good example of how, if you do it right, putting all your advertising eggs in one basket can really pay off!

What You Need to Know About Magazine Advertising

Probably one of the sure fire ways to increase your sales and make your services more popular is through advertising. For years, advertising companies have provided their services to make sure that your products are well taken care of and sold to the public, making them think that what you sell is something that they need, something that is very essential and at the same time beneficial for them. True enough, companies who spend on advertising end up with more expenditures but this is money well spent.

There are many ways to advertise your products and services. In this day and age, new forms of media have been developed in order to send out information. Despite such technological advances, many still go for magazine advertising. This is one of the oldest forms of media for advertising and perhaps it is also one of the most effective.

How does it work?
Typically, in a local magazine, there are spaces allotted for advertisements. This is because most of the budget that the magazine gets is not from their sales but from the advertisements that they cater to. That is why they make it a point to create ample space for their advertisers in order to keep their print business aloft. In turn, people who wish to place an ad in those magazine spaces are to pay the magazine so that their products can be published.

Normally, the amount or cost of advertising depends on the size of the print ad as well as the design and colour. A single page ad will naturally cost more than a half page or a quarter page ad. Likewise, the cost of the ad spaces also differ depending on the type of magazine you wish to place magazine advertising in. Magazines that have a wider target demographics are more likely to cost you more than placing an ad in your local magazines.

How to put up a magazine advertising?
If perhaps you are thinking of placing an ad for your business, there are a few essential things that you need to consider. Of course, you will be spending money on your advertisements so you would likely want to have something that is memorable and will definitely work to your advantage and increase your business sales. To help you get started, here are a few simple tips on how to create an ad for your magazine advertising:

· Determine your target audience
Of course, before you established your business, you have already done market studies to establish your target market right? Then you can use your research to develop a concept for your ad. Make sure that whatever you put in your advertisement should be geared towards your desired market so that it directly speaks out to them and targets them more efficiently.

· Be clear with what you want to say
Stay away from ads that are vague, as if trying to make the audience wonder what that was all about. Be direct but not to the point that you are hard selling. If possible, be subtle but not too much that your target audience miss what you want to say. Include your services and what the audience can possibly get from them.

· Choose your design wisely
Last is of course the design. Make sure that it grabs attention. Be bold and creative. Incorporate elements like color, drawings, or even bold text elements since these things will definitely play a part in your magazine advertising material’s popularity.

AdSense, Pay Per Click & Affiliate Advertising – Using PPC in Your Affiliate Marketing Mix

Pay Per Click Affiliate Advertising – Increasing Your Affiliate Marketing Income

If you need your new Affiliate Business Website to show up quickly in the search engines and can’t wait for it to rise to the top of the search results naturally, via search engine optimization, then your option may be to ‘pay to play’ using pay-per-click marketing.

Perhaps:

  • New Website – It hasn’t yet risen in the Search Engines results. But you need to show up in Google.
  • New Product – You need to promote a product or service and need to reach your target market.
  • New Business – Budget tight? PPC can offer great ROI and fit in with any size budget.

Pay-Per-Click or Contextual advertising could well be the answer

You’ve no doubt seen the little box ads, often on the right hand side of the search engines results and often on other websites as well. Pay-per-click advertising is an effective and targeted form of online advertising that allows you to control the costs of your advertising by only paying when your interested visitors actually click through to your website.

So What Is Pay-Per-Click Advertising?

At it’s simplest PPC is a three line ad that often appears on pages with the search results. The ads are shown when keywords, or search terms that are entered into the ‘search box’ by users of the search engines and then trigger your ad to show.

Advertisers ‘bid’ on keywords and link them to specific ads that will show as a result of the keywords being used in the ‘search box’.

Simple Yet Highly Targeted

Pay-Per-Click’s seemingly simple system has an amazing array of tweaks and twiddles to help the affiliate advertiser target ‘exactly’ the type of customer they wish to market to.

Unlike print or billboard advertising, which is untargeted & doesn’t appeal to 90% of the passing audience, Pay-per-click has the ability of only being seen by the target market, people who are highly interested in what you are advertising, making it highly affective when used at it’s best.

An Example Of Using Pay-Per-Click

Let’s say that you’re selling ‘Treadmills’ and you only want to appear to anyone looking to buy a treadmill.

With Pay-per-click advertising you ensure that the only time that your advert, ‘selling treadmills’, appears is when the actual word ‘Treadmill’ is used by those searching the internet for ‘treadmills’ – not ‘rowing machines’ or ‘exercise bikes’.

Instant High Quality Traffic

Further more, unlike magazines, billboards, flyers, TV or radio, you only pay when a visitor clicks on your advert, making it highly targeted and highly affordable advertising.

Unique Advertising Format

No other advertising format has ever been so efficient at targeting customers & controlling your affiliate marketing costs.

Level Playing Fields For All Businesses

Unlike the expenses involved in traditional print advertising and those of TV or Radio adverts, Pay-per-click allows businesses of all sizes and with the most limited budgets to reach a world wide audience and win the custom of buyers over their bigger competitors.

High Returns On Investment

A further huge advantage of pay-per-click advertising over traditional advertising is that once the visitor ‘clicks’ the advert they will be taken to the exact page of a website that is designed to convert a visitor into a buyer – Highly Effective Targeting.

If the visitor has reached the point, in the buying cycle, of wishing to make a purchase then, if you show them what they are looking for, they are very likely to take out their wallets and click the ‘buy now’ button.

If you have built well crafted pages then your conversion from visitors to customers can be unbelievably high.

For The Beginner & The Advanced User

Unlike many services and tools on the internet, pay-per-click is easy to get started with. Google advertise that you can have a campaign up and running in less that 15 minutes. This is indeed true, however having an active campaign and having an effective campaign are two different things.

Running a pay-per-click campaign takes some knowledge and understanding.

Pay Per Click & Affiliate Marketing

There are many good reasons why you might consider using pay per click in your affiliate business marketing mix.

  • If you’re working in niche and you want to build highly targeted traffic to your affiliate website then, if the price is right, pay per click can bring highly targeted traffic to your site, people looking for exactly what you are promoting.
  • If you have just begun your affiliate marketing website then you may be waiting for the search engines to crawl your site or for it to rise in the natural search results. Pay per click can help you to be seen on page one of search engines.
  • If you know that certain websites, that your intended market will browse, host pay per click adverts, then you could target those sites to appear and drive traffic to your affiliate website.
